Index calculation

The International Cyber Benchmarks Index™ is calculated using a number of the questions that will be tracked over time. The intention is to create an index that will be both stable but sensitive to changes in the cybersecurity landscape:

1. Impact of cyber attacks

The percentage of enterprises that say notable recent cyber events have directly affected the way that they protect their enterprise?

3. Level of threat has changed

Net increase.

5. Level of attack has changed

Net increase.

6. Threat landscape has changed for enterprise

Net increase.

7a. Whether impacted by DDoS

The percentage of enterprises that have ever been on the receiving end of a DDoS?

The first figure used is the percentage of enterprises that say notable recent cyber events have directly affected the way they protect their business (Q1). This figure is multiplied by the average "net increase" percentages from across Q3, Q5 and Q6.  Finally, we multiply the resulting figure by the percentage of enterprises that have ever been on the receiving end of a DDoS (Q7a).

The maximum (theoretical) potential index score is 100.
